Line'n up for a vaccinashunnnn
Hopefully, today I get a H1N1 vaccination and next week, I rec'v the seasonal flu shot. I'll be all ready for the season. Seeing I'm a one of them heavy breathing asthma sufferers - I need them both. However, my asthma hasn't been that much of an issue for the last couple of years - but lately has been rearing it's ugly head.
Hence, the shots.
And tonight is another night of an Art All-Nighter. Have a LOT of work I need to complete THIS WEEKEND. Because next week brings another round of ART. Commissions are coming in (thankfully) lately. A possibility of a group art show and I've begun working on my own art show for February.
The bookstore is getting in the way; along with employees at the bookstore who want hours, but don't want to work them - leaving me, dependable one, to cover for them. That leaves me with less hours to work on art. Another thing - house. Big house with critters and lots of work around here that needs to be done.
A 34 or 38 hour day would be awesome. Or just a damn vacation to some tropical island with a bar.

My contribution to Self-Portrait Day 09

Here it is. I've been including in the description: "my big forehead, chin, nose, and lips" - cuz they are! Heh. I've included a few alter egos; some of them playful.
Painter and a bit of PS. Mirror, photo and imagination were the references.
And YAY! This day is SO MUCH FUN and I only wish more artists participated!

Swampyland
Swamped. With increasing hours at the bookstore and several art projects - some with no real deadline (yet) and a couple of really d-lined ones (comic cover being one) that are one day away of being completed and done - so tomorrow does provide a light at the end of THAT tunnel.
I'm tired. I need a real break. At least from the bookstore thing so that I can just sit my ass down here in the safety of the studio and do art. Lots of art.
Got an art show in February. Would love to take on a project involving a children's menu complete with kittens and bunnies. I may just go ahead and do that one up anyways - who needs sleep?
By any means I am no big freelancer now - but am wondering what I could be really doing if I didn't have this part-time gig constantly tugging me away from the drawing table.
That's the rant of this morning. Hope you enjoyed it.

Know what? TEENGS. Lots of TEENGS.
I'm in a real....mood. Not sure what type - or if it's one specific type of "mood" - but maybe a mixture of stuff going on in my brain at the moment.
Frustration (creative, social, political), anxiety (creative, social, professional), somewhat positive (creative, professional, political) and heightened by a twist of hopeful (all). Oh, there's a bit of exhaustion in there, too.
So to deal with it ALL, I've decided to post something per day every damn day here, in this blog. It's going to be either a sketch, finished work, a page of handwritten someTEENG or digitally doodled someTEENG. A prophetic quoteTEENG. AnyTEENG.
But I'll post it. In this blog. And maybe that'll break me out of this TEENG that's eating away at me.

Figure Drawing

From 10-8 and10-15. Thursdays are the long pose night. Sessions begin at 6:30PM and end at 9PM. 25-min increments with breaks. I'm usually packing up my stuff by 8:50PM, btw.
I obviously need to work on relaxing and letting the pencil flow. What I've been using is pencil, graphite with a white and light grey conte.

Big and Graceful

Peter de Seve was a special guest on the Chiu Stream this past Wednesday. Peter got to make the choice of what we all were going to paint up for that hour. "Big and Graceful" were his words. Here's what I came up with. Didn't get to upload it, though as my connection to the Chiu Stream continually sucks.
But, I'll post it here. So one hour and in Painter.
